Part 2 of UT Match’s Summer Dating Series

Utah has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, which makes it the perfect place to create dates that feel memorable, effortless, and genuinely fun.  While dinner dates can be great, sometimes the best connections happen when you’re laughing together on a paddleboard, floating down a river, or taking in mountain views instead of staring across a restaurant table trying to think of the next question to ask.  Shared experiences naturally create conversation, lower first-date nerves, and help you see how someone handles spontaneity, adventure, and real-life moments.  If you’re tired of the same routine, here are five Utah adventure dates that make it much easier to build connection and create a date someone will actually remember.

1. Paddleboarding at Deer Creek Reservoir

Rent paddleboards and enjoy stunning mountain views.  Afterward, grab a casual bite at Back 40 Ranch House Grill or elevate the evening with a sunset dinner at The Lakehouse at Deer Creek.  Estimated cost: $40–$80 plus dinner.

2. Scenic Lift Ride at Sundance Mountain Resort

Take in breathtaking mountain views and use it as the perfect excuse for lunch or dinner.  Estimated cost: $50–$80 for two.

3. Float the Provo River or Weber River

Grab tubes, sunscreen, and a dry bag, then spend a warm afternoon floating down one of Utah’s most scenic rivers.  Change clothes afterward and stop for dessert at Taggart's Grill if you float the Weber.  Estimated cost: $30–$90.

4. Lunch in Midway + The Homestead Crater

Grab sandwiches at the Ballerina Farm Store, lunch at Lola's Street Kitchen, or Hidden Peak Provisions.  Then soak, swim, and snorkel in the geothermal crater. Yes—actual soaking, not Provo soaking. Estimated cost: $100–$150 for two.

5. Beat the Heat at Tony Grove Lake

Escape to the mountains near Logan, walk the easy 1.2-mile loop trail, and enjoy a picnic lunch in one of Utah’s most beautiful alpine settings. Estimated cost: Free to $25.

At the end of the day, the best dates usually are not the most expensive ones...they are the ones where both people feel relaxed, present, and able to enjoy the experience together. Adventure dates naturally create moments of laughter, teamwork, conversation, and memories that are hard to replicate sitting across a dinner table scrolling through mental interview questions. Whether you are planning a first date or trying to keep dating fun and intentional, Utah gives you endless opportunities to create meaningful experiences together. At UT Match, we believe great relationships are often built through shared experiences, genuine connection, and simply being willing to say yes to the adventure.
